Emily is also a native of the Finger Lakes and of Schuyler County. She just around the corner from Cranberry Creek Homestead. Emily and Marty were a year apart in school and participated in 4-H together. Heather went to school with Emily’s 3 daughters and was in 4-th with them as well. Emily grew up learning to fix things from her older brothers and working the family land. Emily raised her 3 girls on the family farm, often being in charge of all food preservation for the entire year. Emily also worked for a local insurance company and a local green house.
Emily has been with us since the first days of flipping the space. In fact, her abilities to adapt, fix, come up with alternatives, and problem solve is invaluable to us. Whether we are scraping, painting, pounding out nails, repairing, building, hauling, gardening, cleaning, or pressing this woman does it all! She’s also a master with power tools, but her by far is her chainsaw! Around the Homestead Emily’s know as “Mrs. McGyver.” You’ll find her welcoming, working and harvesting. She’s knowledgeable about all things related to flowers, veggies and quilting.
Emily loves spending time with her family, making quilts and projects for all the children and grandchildren. She loves going on Pride Rides with her brother and spending time at the family camp. So, when you see Emily ask her about her grandkids, her sewing or her latest food endeavor!
