Owner Heather O'Grady-Evans

Heather is a Finger Lakes native who grew up with the wineries. Family visits always meant visits to the wineries as her parents took pride in showing off the new industry. Her passion for the region and the wine industry specifically began in 1991 when the New York Wine and Grape Foundation provided her with materials on the industry to take with her as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student.

Heather traveled extensively throughout college, graduate school and beyond always looking to expand her knowledge on wine and food from around the world. Studying and living in Hungary, Russia, Ireland, and Crete with extensive travel to other countries provided an in-depth look at the local food and wine culture.

Heather has more than 30 years experience in the wine industry, hospitality industry, and academia.  She joined the team at Red Newt Cellars in 2009, and has always enjoyed providing an educational wine experience to customers coming to taste wine in the Finger Lakes, and views front line winery staff as more than just sales personnel. They are true ambassadors of the entire region.

Heather firmly believes the best way to change the world is through one human interaction at a time. Integral to that is enjoying great food and wine with others. Heather owns Cranberry Creek Homestead, works closely with the Finger Lake Wine Industry. When not working, Heather is always with her two four-legged children: Nala Nalani & Asha Astraea. Her love of gardening, hiking, traveling, cooking, wine and cheese provide the foundations that Cranberry Creek Homestead were built on.
